I’m trying to maintain my weight while exiting starvation mode?
Yummyummy Asked: I’m trying to maintain my weight while exiting starvation mode?
I'm 5'5 – 5'5 1/2 and 98 pounds…I use to be 138 pounds until I got myself into a diet obsession that leaded to an eating disorder…From there I started to exercise everyday for an hour and a half running, eating only 600-800 calories a day…As time went by I kind of increased it to 800-1000 calories and lowered my daily exercise because of my parents being concerned, but didn't seem to gain any weight. Now I exercise only 2 times a week, I would continue if it weren't for my parents, but they said I lost too much. Lately I've been eating all the meals being given to me, normally I would throw them away, I know it's bad, but I don't wanna go through emotional guilt. But while I've been eating all the meals, I've also been sneaking out to run when I have the chance to sneak out, that way I can maintain my weight and train my body into getting out of starvation mode. Will this work successfully until my body is out of starvation mode?
Answers:
You are doing the right thing. GRADUALLY increase you calorie consumption.
If I were you, I'd add in some resistance training (like push ups). If you build muscle, it'll help you rev up your metabolism.
